where I shopped for everything we needed for our new apartment

Yes, I'm posting about our new apartment again. But so much of what I've been up to the last couple of days – the last week, really – has been centered around our little corner of Durham, so I wanted to share some of the places that I've found really great deals and great pieces for our new apartment.

IKEA. We have a new couch and new bedroom furniture that are definitely investments, but there were a few pieces we wanted but didn't want to drop a ton of money on. Off to IKEA we went! We found a great table with matching barstools – the higher tables are more convenient when you live with Theo, trust me – and my precious bookshelf, plus some baskets for my bookshelf and a few other random organizational items.

Wayfair. Wayfair might be one of the best home decor sites out there, although you should always check Amazon for whatever products Wayfair has just in case. (Amazon's prices are almost always better.) I got a great patio set from Wayfair for Pat's anniversary gift and am shopping for lamps and throw pillows now.

Target. This is a given, right? But I found a great TV stand for a great price at Target and I've been eyeing quite a few home decor accents for my office space in the guest room. I love the Nate Berkus collection – so much gold!

Amazon. Honestly, I am all too ready for Amazon to stage its takeover of the world – I am totally here for it. We got great pillow shams, throw pillows and a new throw for the couch on Amazon, and I'm already eyeing the desk I want for my office, too. And the fast and speedy Amazon Prime shipping means I literally never have to wait more than a hot second to get my home decor on.

Etsy. Etsy is the BEST for pillow covers, y'all! If you have a specific want for a print, a pillow cover, etc., Etsy is the place to go. If you're fine "settling" for a look that maybe isn't exactly what you want, then I recommend Amazon or one of the other above sites for home decor. But if you know that you want a Carolina Blue throw pillow with the outline of the state of North Carolina on it, you're better off checking Etsy – and the prices are still good! Another thing we wanted was a hanger for our keys and Theo's leash. We found a generic key hanger on Amazon for $12, but it was plain and boring. On Etsy, I found a cute wooden key hanger that is specifically for a couple with a dog.

Where do you find the best home goods? (And yes, I know I need to hit up TJ Maxx and Home Goods! It's on my list, but I haven't made it over that way in a little bit.)
