my september goal check-in

I was about to start this post with a paragraph about how busy August has been, but I realized that I always start these posts with that same paragraph

HOW I DID ON MY AUGUST GOALS

• Read 3 books. I read two books this August – all in the last few days of the month, whoops! – so I just barely missed my goal here.

• Blog 20 times. Dagnabbit. I posted 16 times in August – so close.

Empty my storage unit. Woo! I finally, finally, finally emptied my storage unit, which is saving me $104 a month.

• Cook dinner at home 5 nights a week. Lol.

MY GOALS FOR SEPTEMBER

Read 3 books. I have a huge pile of books that I am dying to make time to read, and I have a long flight to and from Sacramento later this month. Hopefully I can make time for some reading on those flights – in between all the other work I like to cram into my flights.

Blog 20 times in September. If I blog every weekday, I should hit 20 blog posts in September. I really need to work on prepping myself so I am able to blog every weekday – sometimes (like right now) I get behind and have no blogs in the bank, so I end up writing a blog post every evening just in time to hit publish. Not exactly what I want for myself.

Start my outline for National Novel Writing Month. I have participated in NaNoWriMo every year since I was a sophomore in high school, and I've even won it a few times. This year, I want to take it truly seriously and do a lot of prep, so I'm ready when the clock strikes Nov. 1.

Cook dinner 3 nights a week at home (when schedule permits). I needed to give myself some room for things like football practice or a long day of babysitting Theo after he got fixed, and I didn't make room for that. So, when our schedule permits, I want to cook dinner 3 nights a week at home. Now that it's football season, at least one day a week Pat will probably be fed at a football game, so that takes a little pressure off of me.
